Tournament
Morningside will be the number one seed when the 2007 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball Tournament opens on Thursday, May 3, in Sioux City, Iowa. The Mustangs were the GPAC regular season champions this year with a 19-5 record. Northwestern and Dana tied for second in the league and the Red Raiders take the number two seed by way of league tie-breakers. Dana, the defending conference tournament champion, will be seeded third. Midland Lutheran is the fourth seed with Concordia in the five spot again by way of tie-breakers. Dakota Wesleyan, Hastings, and Briar Cliff round out the field with the six through eight seeds.

This year’s championship will be played at the SYA Softball Complex in Sioux City, Iowa (Riverside). The tournament will be played according to an eight team double-elimination bracket. The tournament will be played on Thursday, May 3 and Friday, May 4, 2007.
