The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for April 16 – April 22, 2007. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2006-2007 GPAC players-of-the-week and players and coaches-of-the-year awards program.

Field Events – Abby Schlueter, Doane
Doane’s Abby Schlueter is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Field Athlete-of-the-Week. Schlueter, a sophomore from Beatrice, Nebraska, posted the top GPAC mark in the triple jump with a leap of 39-02.75 at the Doane Relays. She became the fourth Doane jumper in school history to go over 39 feet. Her triple jump mark is the fourth best in the NAIA. Schlueter holds the third best mark in the GPAC in the long jump (17-08.25).

Track Events – Ellie Windle, Doane
Doane’s Ellie Windle is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Track Athlete-of-the-Week. Windle, a senior from Nebraska City, Nebraska, picked up a first place finish in the 800 meters at the Doane Relays with a time of 2:15.82. The mark is the best in the GPAC. She also holds the top 400 time in the league. On the week she was also on a winning 4x400 and 4x800 relay team. The Doane 4x400 and 4x800 teams also hold the top times in the league.
