Week 15: Basketball Players-of-the-Week
Combined Basketball - Tue, Feb. 21, 2017

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following basketball players-of-the-week for contests played February 13-19, 2017. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2016-2017 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week

Women – Hanah Barnard, Doane University (Guard)

Doane guard Hanah Barnard is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball player-of-the-week.  Barnard, a senior from Beatrice, Nebraska, helped Doane defeat the two teams chasing them to get into the GPAC Tournament. Against Mount Marty, she poured in 32 points - the fourth 30+ point game of the season in conference play. She claimed the regular season scoring crown with 20.4 points per game.

Men – Diamontae McKinley, Midland University (Guard)

Midland guard Diamontae McKinley is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball player-of-the-week.  McKinley, a senior from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, helped spark a pair of second half comebacks for Midland last week with his three-point shooting. He shot over 50 percent from downtown while netting a career-high 27 points on senior day. McKinley leads the GPAC in total three-pointers (105) and three-pointers per game (3.6) while ranking fifth nationally in both categories this season.
