KANSAS CITY, Mo. – (Opening Round Brackets | Bracket Video Show) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the seeds and brackets for the 2014 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round. Each of the nine locations will feature a five-team, double-elimination tournament.

For the first time in league history, three GPAC teams will play in the field of 45 and have a chance to make the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.  The NAIA World Series is hosted by Lewis Clark State College.

GPAC regular season champion Doane is a two seed in the Hutchinson, Kansas, bracket hosted by Tabor College.  GPAC tournament champion Midland will be a four seed in the Marian, Indiana, bracket hosted by the Crossroads League/Indiana Wesleyan University.  Northwestern, who received an at-large berth, will compete as a three seed in the Shawnee, Oklahoma, bracket hosted by Oklahoma Baptist Universtiy.

Two seed Doane will face #3 seed Jamestown in the first round next Monday.  Number four seed Midland will match up with #5 Spring Hill in their opener, with third seeded Northwestern taking on #2 seed Bellevue in their first game of the opening round.
