GPAC Weekly Golf Honors Announced

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfer-of-the-week for April 14 – April 20, 2014.  Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2013-2014 GPAC players-of-the-week and players and coaches-of-the-year awards program.

Men – Matt Pitts, Morningside

Morningside's Matt Pitts is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week after having his best outing of the year at the Hastings Wild West Invite last week. Pitts, a senior out of Cherokee, Iowa, was the top finisher at the meet, shooting a one over par and finishing with a score of 73 in the 16 rounds.

 

Women – Amy Ahlers, Concordia

Amy Ahlers of Concordia is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week. A freshman from Albion, Nebraska, Ahlers finished first individually at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite last week, helping the Bulldogs to a fourth place finish. Ahlers won with a seven over par on the day and a score of 80. She carries a season average of 84.67 through nine rounds.
