GPAC Golfers-of-the Week Announced
Golf Combined - Wed, Oct. 9, 2013

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for September 30 – October 6, 2013.  Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2013-2014 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Women- Lauren Fitts, Dakota Wesleyan University

Lauren Fitts of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Co-Golfer-of-the-Week. Fitts, a sophomore from Brookings, South Dakota, fought through windy conditions and a lightning delay to finish in a tie for first at the second GPAC Qualifier of the year. She shot an 80 and tied with Concordia's Amy Ahlers. She was one of just three people to shoot in the 30s with a 37 on the front nine and a 43 on the back. Lauren is now in second in the overall GPAC standings one stroke behind teammate Chelsea Burback.

Women – Amy Ahlers, Concordia University

Amy Ahlers of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Co-Golfer-of-the-Week. Ahlers, a freshman from Albion, Nebraska set a new career low by carding an 80 at GPAC Qualifier No. 2 on Oct. 2. The Albion, Neb., native currently sits tied for eighth on the conference individual leaderboard with her two-round 89-81--169. She leads Concordia with an 85.29 average through seven fall rounds.
