GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week Announced
Cross Country Combined - Wed, Oct. 2, 2013

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following runners-of-the-week for September 23-29, 2013.  Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2013-2014 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Women- Jessa Sughroue, Doane College

            Doane's Jessa Sughroue is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for the second week in a row. Sughroue, a junior from McCook, Nebraska won the Dean White Invitational for the first time after two previous runner-up finishes, clocking a 19:17 time, a personal best time on the 5K course. Doane ran away with the team championship (19 pts) with Hastings 2nd (77 pts) and Northwestern 3rd (80 pts). There was a total of 67 runners in the meet.


Men – Ben Sievert, Concordia University

           Concordia's Ben Sievert is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week.  Sievert, a junior from Frankenmuth, Michigan finished better than all NAIA competitors at the Roy Griak Invite, leading the 14th-ranked Bulldogs to a ninth-place team finish on the 8K course. He ran a 25:57 coming in 15th place. The Bulldogs out-paced No. 6 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and No. 16 Dickinson State (N.D.).
