GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week Announced
Volleyball - Tue, Sep. 3, 2013

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for August 26 - September 1, 2013.  Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2013-2014 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Player – Claire White, Concordia University (Outside Hitter)
  Concordia University outside hitter Claire White is this week GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. White, a sophomore, from Exeter, Nebraska, helped guide the Bulldogs to a 2-1 record on the week. White, a transfer from NCAA Division II Washburn University, enjoyed a big weekend posting 60 kills over three matches to lead the Bulldogs.  She averaged 4.29 kills per set while hitting .212 over 14 sets. White also added 46 digs and nine aces on the week as Concordia is 6-1 to start to the season. The Bulldogs will host Hastings in Seward, Nebraska on September 4 at 7:30pm.    

Setter- Megan Farley, Midland University
  Midland University setter Megan Farley is this week GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Farley, a junior from Syracuse, Nebraska, helped lead the 13th ranked Warriors to a 5-0 record on the week. Farley was the facilitator of the Warriors offense totaling 167 assists in five matches. She averaged 11.1 assists per set this past week with a match high of 37 assists against Peru State. Farley helped keep the 13th ranked Warriors offense clicking on all cylinders this week leading them to a perfect 13-0 record to start the season. Midland will host York College on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at 7:30pm in Fremont, Nebraska.

Defensive- Carli Smith, Concordia University – Defensive Specialist           
  Concordia University defensive specialist Carli Smith is this week GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Smith, a junior from Temecula, California, helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-1 record on the week totaling 92 digs and 98 service receptions over 14 sets on the weekend. Smith had an amazing reception percentage of .963 and averaged 6.5 digs per set for the Bulldogs. Concordia is now 6-1 on the season and will face Hastings in Seward, Nebraska on September 4 at 7:30pm in their conference opener.
