Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Jamie Crouse, Concordia
Concordia's Jamie Crouse is the field athlete-of-the-week. Crouse, a junior from Belgrade, Nebraska, a three-time All-American, broke her own school record with her toss of 190-05 in the hammer throw, which placed her third at the Concordia Invite. That mark ranks third on the NAIA leader board at this point in the season.
Track Events – Sarah Kortze, Concordia
Concordia's Sarah Kortze is the track athlete-of-the-week. Kortze, a senior from Rockford, Illinois, broke her own school record by more than 20 seconds with her time of 36:55.66 in the 10,000 meters at the Concordia Invite. That mark is an automatic national qualifying time and ranks sixth in the NAIA (first in the GPAC) this season.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Zack Lindsley, Doane
Doane's Zack Lindsley is the field athlete-of-the-week. Lindsley, a senior from Columbus, Nebraska, set the school record in the shot put with a throw of 59-02.75, which ranks 3rd in the NAIA. He had a throw of 192-01 in the discus and continues to lead the NAIA in the event (he had a throw of 193-02 earlier this year) by five inches. In the hammer throw, he posted a mark of 174-06, a season-best mark, and ranks 7th in the NAIA. All three throws met the NAIA automatic qualifying standards and took place at the Concordia Invite.
Track Events – Monte Larsen, Morningside
Morningside's Monte Larsen is the track athlete-of-the-week. Larsen, a senior from Sioux City, Iowa, finished second behind a University of South Dakota runner in the 400-meter hurdles with the fastest time in the NAIA this season at 52.53. He won the 800-meters with the nation's fourth fastest time this season at 1:52.02. Larsen also anchored the Mustangs to victories in the sprint medley, 1600-meter, and 3200-meter relays and was named the Sioux City Relays MVP for the men's collegiate division.
