Field Events – Tara Cockerill, Briar Cliff
Briar Cliff's Tara Cockerill is the field athlete-of-the-week. Cockerill, a senior from Spalding, Nebraska, broke her own school record in the shot put with a throw of 46-0.50 at the Wayne State Wildcat Open. The mark places her second on the NAIA performance list at this point in the season.
Track Events – Sydney Holtmeier, Doane
Doane's Sydney Holtmeier is the track athlete-of-the-week. Holtmeier, a freshman from DeWitt, Nebraska, posted the top 400 meters time in the GPAC at the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolf Invite with a winning time of 57.94 at the Devaney Center. She was also on a winning 4x400 team that posted a GPAC top time of 3:56.88. Both the 400 meters and 4x400 times meet the NAIA "A" Standard.
