2012 GPAC Cross Country Honors Announced

Honors for the 2012 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cross Country Season have been announced.  

Sarah Kortze from Concordia has been named the 2012 Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runner-of-the-Year, and headlines the GPAC Women's Cross Country All-Conference Team.  Kortze was the individual champion at the GPAC Championships on Saturday, November 3, at Adams Nature Preservation in McCook, South Dakota, with a 5K time of 17:11.26.  Dordt College was the women's team conference champion with 28 points and claimed the NAIA automatic bid to the Women's NAIA National Championships.  Dordt head coach Greg Van Dyke was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Cross Country Coaches-of-the-Year.

On the men's side Colin Morrissey from Concordia is the 2012 Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runner-of-the-Year, and headlines this year's GPAC Men's Cross Country All-Conference Team.  Morrissey placed first in Saturday's men's 8K race with a time of 25:08.65.  Concordia was the men's team conference champion with 48 points. The Bulldogs earned the NAIA automatic bid to the Men's NAIA National Championships. Concordia head coach Kregg Einspahr has been honored as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Cross Country Coach-of-the-Year.

The NAIA National Cross Country Championships are slated for Saturday, November 19, in Vancouver, Washington. 

The Top 15 runners in each race on Saturday are GPAC All-Conference for 2012
