Defending GPAC Men's Golf Champion Northwestern shot a round of 292 on Wednesday to win GPAC Men's Golf Qualifier #2 in Sioux City, Iowa, at the Green Valley Golf Course.  The Red Raiders were four strokes in front of host Morningside (296) and eight strokes up on Nebraska Wesleyan (300). 

With the round two totals the Red Raiders extend their overall lead to 17 strokes after 36 holes of 72 completed for the season.  Over the first two rounds Northwestern is at 574.  Nebraska Wesleyan is in second with a 591, while Morningside is just a stroke back of the Prairie Wolves with a 592.

On Wednesday in the medalist play four players shot rounds of 72 at Green Valley.  Rory Doll (Nebraska Wesleyan), Kyle Stanek (Northwestern), Nathan Zimmerman (Morningside), and Michael Dykema (Northwestern) all carded even par rounds.  Round two was played in the mid 60's with wind at the Green Valley Golf Course.

In the overall medalist play Northwestern's Jay Monahan holds a one stroke lead on teammate Neil Malenke.  Monahan is at a 142 (67,75), while Malenke is at a 143 (70-73).  Nebraska Wesleyan's Rory Doll is in third with a 144 (72,72).

GPAC Men's Golf Qualifier #3 will be played on April 8 in Lincoln, Nebraska, at Wilderness Ridge (Doane Host).  The fourth and final qualifier of the year will be on Thursday, April 25, in Sioux Center, Iowa, at The Ridge (Dordt Host).
