Morningside College will host Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Golf Qualifier Tournament #2 on Wednesday at Green Valley Golf Course.

The first group is scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.

Defending GPAC champion Northwestern College finished first at this year's first of four GPAC Qualifier tourneys held Sept. 13 at Landsmeeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa. The Red Raiders carded a 282 to top the 11-team field. Nebraska Wesleyan University was second with a 291 and Morningside was third with a 296.

Northwestern's Jay Monahan was the individual medalist at GPAC Qualifier #1 with a five-under par 67 by a three-stroke margin over Red Raider teammate Neil Malenke. Reigning GPAC medalist Brandon Thompson of Morningside and Mustang teammate Matt Pitts were two of three players who tied for fifth place at 72.

The team champion from the combined scoring at the four GPAC Qualifier tourneys will earn a berth in the 62nd annual National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Golf National Championship to be held May 14-17, 2013, at Creekside Country Club in Salem, Ore. The individual medalist in the combined scoring from the four GPAC Qualifiers, if not a member of the championship team, will also advance to the NAIA national tourney.

The third and fourth GPAC Qualifiers are scheduled for the spring on April 8 at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln, Neb. (Doane host), and April 25 at The Ridge Golf Club in Sioux Center, Iowa (Dordt host).
