Women's Cross Country - Wed, Sep. 19, 2012

Sarah Kortze of Concordia (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Kortze was selected based on her performance from Sept. 10 - 16 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent runner of the week selections.

Kortze, a senior from Rockford, Ill., was the top finisher among NAIA runners at the Woody Greeno Invitational on Sept. 15. Hosted by the University of Nebraska, Kortze was seventh overall with a time of 21:54.9 in the 6K race. Five of the six runners in front of Kortze hail from NCAA Division I ranks.

Her effort led the Bulldogs to 11th-place out of 32 teams at the event.
