Kendra Schwein of Hastings (Neb.) has been named NAIA Volleyball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Schwein was selected based on her performance from Sept. 3 - 9 and was chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections among 23 conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Schwein, a 5-9 senior outside hitter from Highlands, Colo., led the Brancos to a 4-0 record as they defeated two ranked teams. She notched 21 kills, seven digs and six block assists in Hastings 3-2 victory over then-No. 11 Doane (Neb.) (21-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 15-8) and posted 19 kills and 14 digs in the Brancos 3-2 (14-25, 27-25, 25-16, 19-25, 15-11) victory against then-No. 12 Oklahoma Baptist. In total, Schwein posted 65 kills, 29 digs and a .247 attack percentage in the Brancos four matches.

Schwein, leads Hastings with 167 kills on the season, which ranks 25th nationally.For a complete listing of all the national statistical leaders, click here.
