The first edition of the 2012 NAIA National Football Players of the Week were announced Monday by the national office: Jordan Delbaugh of Nebraska Wesleyan was named NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 27 - Sept. 2. He was chosen out of a pool of player of the week performers among the nine conferences and independents in the NAIA.

Delbaugh, a 5-4, 180 lb., senior running back from Englewood, Colo., blocked two kicks in Nebraska Wesleyan's 25-20 victory against Saint Mary (Kan.) on Sept. 1. His first block came on a Spire field goal attempt late in the first half to keep the Prairie Wolves within a touchdown (14-7) at the half. Delbaugh's second came in the fourth quarter on a Saint Mary PAT. In addition to blocking the attempt, Delbaugh scooped up and returned the ball for a defensive PAT. Delbaugh owns eight career blocked kicks.
