Seventh seed Mount Marty ran the table at 5-0 over three days and claimed the 2012 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball Tournament Championship in Lincoln, Nebraska.  The Lancers defeated Northwestern 1-0 at Haymarket Park (Hawks Field) in the lone game on Saturday.  Mount Marty is now 26-26 on the season.  Northwestern closes the season at 30-23.

Doane won the regular season championship this year with a 16-4 league record and has the league's first NAIA Opening Round bid secured.  The GPAC tournament will be played according to the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association Eight-Team Double-Elimination Bracket. 

Mount Marty receives the second automatic berth to the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round.  NAIA Baseball has two national bids for every ten teams in a conference (only baseball and basketball allow two for ten in the NAIA, all other sports are two bids for every 12 teams).  One national bid is allowed for every six conference teams in all NAIA sports per NAIA guidelines.
