Nate Polak, senior from Hastings College and Lincoln, Nebraska, has been selected by the New York Red Bulls in the 4th round of the Major League Soccer (MLS) supplemental draft.  He becomes the first player in Hastings and GPAC history to be selected in the MLS draft.

Polak had a much decorated career for the Broncos as he was a two-time first team all-league selection and the 2011 GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year.  He went on to be selected as a First Team NAIA All-American in 2011.  Twice in 2011 he was named NAIA National Player-of-the-Week.

In is junior year Hastings won the NAIA National Championship, while as a senior they were the NAIA National Runner-Up.  He was named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team in both seasons (2010 and 2011).

For his career he scored 43 goals and recorded 30 assists in his three years for the Broncos.  He transferred to Hastings after spending his freshman year at Drake University.

Polak's younger brother Tyler was selected in the 2nd round of the MLS draft by the New England Revolution.  His older brother Aaron also played for Hastings and was the 2006 GPAC Player-of-the-Year and two-time NAIA All-American.
