Women's Soccer - Sat, Nov. 12, 2011

Top seeded Hastings defeated 7th seed Morningside 4-1 to claim the 2011 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Women's Soccer Championship on Saturday in Hastings at Lloyd Wilson Field.

The Broncos, coached by Ted Flogaites, are now 18-2-1 and secured the league's only automatic berth to the NAIA National Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round on Saturday, November 19.  The GPAC is allotted one automatic berth because the conference is below 12 NAIA teams in the postseason (10 teams).

Morningside, coached by Tom Maxon, ends the season at 11-9-1 after a 2-1 run through the GPAC Tournament as the seven seed.

Sixteen teams will advance to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Final Site (Jack Allen Complex) in Decatur, Alabama, November 28 - December 3, 2011.
