Dakota Wesleyan shot a final round total of 348 at Two Rivers in North Sioux City, South Dakota, on Thursday and claimed the 2009-2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Golf Championship with a 72 hole total of 1303. The Tigers won their 7th GPAC women's title. Sioux Falls had the top round on the day as the Cougars shot a round of 341 and finished second overall with 1329. Dana placed third with a four round total of 1410. The fourth GPAC Qualifier was hosted by Briar Cliff University.
 
Dani Bellet rounded out an outstanding spring season with the top round of 76 on the day and claimed GPAC Women's Golfer-of-the-Year honors with a four round total of 298.  Her teammate Kelli Baseley was second with a 316, while Sarah Gilbert from Sioux Falls was third overall with a 323.
 
Dakota Wesleyan now advances to the NAIA National Women's Golf Championship May 25-28 in Rapid City, South Dakota, at the Meadowbrook Golf Course.

The GPAC Golf Qualifiers were played in Sioux Falls (Elmwood), Lincoln (Pioneer Park), Blair (River Wilds), and North Sioux City (Two Rivers) this year.

The top 10 in the final individual standings are considered all-conference with five at-large spots to be added in the next week. Coach-of-the-Year honors will also be announced in the near future.
