GPAC Baseball Honors
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for April 26 -May 2, 2010. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Pitcher - Trey Krier, Mount Marty
  Mount Marty pitcher Trey Krier is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Krier, a senior from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, posted a one and two hitter in a 24 hour time period as the Lancers won the GPAC regular season conference championship with a 20-4 league record. He one hit Morningside on Friday with eight strikeouts and then he tossed a two hitter with three strikeouts on Saturday in a win over Dakota Wesleyan. He walked just one in the two starts. For the season Krier is 9-0 with an ERA of 2.10. Mount Marty will play Concordia on Thursday in the first round of the GPAC Tournament in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Player- Brad Payne, Northwestern
  Northwestern shortstop Brad Payne is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Payne, a senior from Alta, Iowa, hit .611 on the week as the Red Raiders closed the season with a 5-1 record and secured the six seed in the GPAC Tournament. For the week he had 12 RBI's, two homeruns, two doubles, and scored nine times. He did not strikeout in 18 plate appearances. Northwestern is 29-18 on year and will open play against Dakota Wesleyan at noon on Thursday in the first round of the GPAC Tournament in Mitchell, South Dakota.
