GPAC Softball Championship
Softball - Sat, May 8, 2010
Top seed Morningside defeated four seed Midland Lutheran 13-2 in five innings to win the 2010 GPAC Softball Championship at the Smith Complex in Hastings, Nebraska, on Saturday. The Mustangs went 4-0 in the tournament. Both the Mustangs and Warriors will now advance to the NAIA National Softball Championship in Decatur, Alabama, and represent the conference.
Morningside secured the first GPAC National Tournament berth by way of their regular season championship, Midland Lutheran claims the second berth to the NAIA National Championship by way of their runner-up finish to Morningside in the tournament. The NAIA National Championship is May 20-26 in Decatur, Alabama, at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex. The 32 team pool play pairings will be announced on May 11.
The top eight teams from the regular season qualified for the conference tournament and
the tournament was played according to an eight team double-elimination bracket.
