The 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships are slated for this Friday and Saturday in Hastings, Nebraska. Hastings College will be the host for the 10
th Annual GPAC spring event.
The multi-events will begin on Friday with the Heptathlon for the women and Decathlon for the men. Multi-events will conclude on Saturday and the general championships will begin with the field events at 11:30AM and the running events at NOON.

2010 GPAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Heat Sheets
Doane College returns both their women's and men's teams as the defending conference champions. Last year in Yankton, South Dakota, at Williams Field the Tigers scored 207.5 points on the men's side and 167 on the women's side to claim conference gold. For the men it was their second straight outdoor league title and on the women's side it was the 11th in a row for Doane and Head Coach Ed Fye.
Concordia's Charista Zehnder was named the Female Outstanding Athlete-of-the-Meet last year and returns to the field again in 2010. Individually Zehnder placed second in the 100, 200, and Long Jump. In the triple jump she placed sixth. She was also on the winning 4x400 and second place 4x100 relays last May. Doane's Virgil Mitchell was named the Male Outstanding Athlete-of-the-Meet last spring scoring 22.5 points for the Tigers. Mitchell individually won the 110 hurdles and 400. He was also on the winning Tiger 4x400 relay.
