Dakota Wesleyan's women will take their 19 stroke lead back onto the course on Saturday as the GPAC Women's Golf Qualifier #3 is played at River Wilds in Blair, Nebraska. Dana College will host the third of four GPAC Qualifiers for the 2009-10 season.
The Tigers shot a very impressive round of 311 in Lincoln, Nebraska, at GPAC Women's Golf Qualifier #2 at the Pioneers Golf Course on Monday, October 5, to round out the fall season. The Tigers lead Sioux Falls after 36 holes of play. Dakota Wesleyan's two round total is 631 with the Cougars at 650.
Dakota Wesleyan's Dani Bellet leads the medalist race after a round of 71 in qualifier #2. Bellet, last year's GPAC Women's Golfer-of-the-Year, has a two round total of 148 (77-71). Briar Cliff's Michaela Carew, the leader after the first qualifier at Sioux Falls is tied for third overall with a 156. She is tied with Sarah Gilbert from Sioux Falls. Kelli Baseley from Dakota Wesleyan is second with a 36 hole total of 154.
The fourth and final qualifier will be hosted by Briar Cliff on May 6 at Two Rivers. The team winner of the GPAC qualifiers, along with the medalist, will advance to the NAIA National Golf Championships May 25-28 in Rapid City, South Dakota.
