The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for March 29 -April 4, 2010. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Pitcher - Trey Krier, Mount Marty
Mount Marty pitcher Trey Krier is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Krier, a senior from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, threw a perfect game on Saturday in the Lancers 5-0 win at Briar Cliff. It was the first perfect game in the history of the GPAC and just the 19th in the history of the NAIA. For the game he struck out nine batters while facing the minimum 21 batters. He had ten fly ball outs on the day with the wind blowing out at Bishop Mueller Field. He is now 4-0 on the season with an ERA of 1.57. The win moved him into third all-time at Mount Marty with 18 for his career. The Lancers lead the league with a 7-1 record and are 19-7 on the season.

Player- Javier Alvarez, Morningside
Morningside infielder Javier Alvarez is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Alvarez, a junior from Chicago, Illinois, posted a batting average of .643 on the week going 9-14 at the plate. He had seven RBI's and walked twice. His slugging percentage was .857 and he had an on base percentage of .688. Morningside is now 15-14 on the year after posting a 3-2 record last week.
