Hastings Ends Season at 31-4
Hastings Ends Season at 31-4
It may have taken seven years, but Grand View (Iowa) was able to get revenge against Hastings (Neb.) with a 69-61 second-round victory Friday at the 19th Annual State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena.

Hastings spent the final four polls of the regular season as the nation's top-ranked team and had won 10 straight games prior to Friday's loss. Grand View was not intimidated though. Any jitters the Vikings had turned into adrenaline and drive en route to the upset of the twelve-time qualifier and three-time national champion Broncos. Garey Smith's Vikings (27-8) advance into their first quarterfinals appearance in four trips to the national championship and will square off against Shawnee State (Ohio) Saturday at 1 p.m. Hastings' season ends with a record of 31-4.
