Championships
The 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships were held today at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, on the campus of The University of Nebraska.

Concordia's women scored 151 points and won the team title, while the Doane men scored 190.5 points winning the team championship. Concordia's women's title snapped a 19 year run by Doane atop the conference. For the Tiger men it was their fourth straight league title. Doane's women placed second with 136 points, while the Concordia men were second with 117.5.

Charista Zehnder from Concordia was named the Women's Athlete-of-the-Meet with 24.25 points. On the Men's side Doane's Virgil Mitchell claimed the Men's Athlete-of-the-Meet honor with 40.5 points.

Five new GPAC Indoor Records were set on the day:

Women's 60 Meter Dash - DeeJay Silcott, Doane - 7.70

Women's 200 Meter Dash - DeeJay Silcott, Doane - 25.26

Women's 4x800 Relay - Concordia (Lutmer, Meineke, Andews, and Sutton) - 9:32.93

Men's 200 Meter Dash - Virgil Mitchell, Doane - 21.50

Men's Mile Run - Zach Meineke, Concordia - 4:14.36

New this year was the addition of Multi-Events to the GPAC Championships. The pentathlon for the women took place on Friday at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. The men's heptathlon was started on Friday at Doane and was completed on Saturday morning at the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Jillian Ourada from Doane won the women's pentathlon with 3262 points, while Doane's Rob Keeney won the Heptathlon with 4849 points.

The top eight in each event are considered GPAC All-Conference Performers. The Coach-of-the-Year and Outstanding Performances of the meet will be released next week.
