The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following indoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for January 18 - January 24, 2010. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC players-of-the-week and players and coaches-of-the-year awards program.

Field Events - Tierra Hubbard, Concordia
Concordia's Tierra Hubbard repeats as the field athlete-of-the-week. Hubbard, a junior from Roanoke, Virginia, won the weight throw at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite. Her toss in the event was 58-11.25. The mark set a new Concordia school record (that she set last week) by over four feet. The mark leads the GPAC and NAIA this season.
Track Events - Jenna Schwalenberg, Concordia
Concordia's Jenna Schwalenberg is the track athlete-of-the-week. Schwalenberg, a freshman from Columbus, Nebraska, won the 1000 meters at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite. Her time was 3:04.58 and is the fastest time in the GPAC and NAIA. She also won the mile at the NWU Invite (at the Devaney Center) with a time of 5:06.26 which is the fastest in the GPAC and fourth in the NAIA to date.

Field Events - Josh Tonniges, Concordia
Concordia's Josh Tonniges is the field athlete-of-the-week. Tonniges, a junior from Cairo, Nebraska, posted a GPAC leading mark of 15-7 in the pole vault at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite last Friday. He placed second in the event.
Track Events - Titus Kosgei, Mount Marty
Mount Marty's Titus Kosgei is the track athlete-of-the-week. Kosgei, a junior from Eldoret, Kenya, on the 800 at the USD Graphic Edge Invite in Vermillion, South Dakota. His time of 1:55.92 leads the GPAC and ranks him fifth in the NAIA. He also ran a split of 51.32 in the 4x400 relay.
The 2010 GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships are Friday and Saturday,
February 19-20. Multi-Events will begin at 1PM on Friday, February 19, at Doane College and the GPAC Championships will begin at 9AM (Multi's) and NOON (General Championships) on Saturday, February 20 at the Devaney Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska
