The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men's basketball player-of-the-week for January 4 - January 10, 2010. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

  Concordia post Porter Birtell is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week. Birtell, a freshman from Madison, Nebraska, averaged 19 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as the Bulldog men went 2-0 on the week. In a Thursday win at Dana he netted 21 and came back with 17 points and nine rebounds on Saturday in a road win at Dordt. He was 14-22 from the floor and 10-14 at the foul line. Concordia is now 11-6 overall and 6-2 in league play.
