Dana College proudly names Jason Shumaker as the new head coach of its football program. Shumaker begins recruiting immediately and will coach the Vikings in the fall 2010 season.

Shumaker comes to Dana from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, where he held the positions of both offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator.

"We are very excited to add new energy to our Viking football program," said Bill Danenhauer, Dana's athletic director. "Jason is very familiar with coaching at a school similar to Dana and will be a great fit for this institution."

Shumaker's coaching experience has included positions with offensive and defensive lines, tight ends, fullbacks and running backs. As a student, he played football at the University of Kansas. From there he took his expertise to Eastern New Mexico University and then to the University of Saint Mary.
