The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men's basketball player-of-the-week for December 7 -December 13, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week
Sam Huebner, Forward - Concordia
Concordia forward Sam Huebner is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week. Huebner, a junior from Aurora, Colorado, averaged 20.5 points and 14 rebounds a game this past week as the Bulldogs went 1-1. In a four overtime win over Northwestern he netted 28 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. For the week he was 14-16 at the free throw line. Concordia is now 8-5 on the season and 4-2 in the GPAC.
Daniel Van Kalsbeek, Post - Northwestern
Northwestern post Daniel Van Kalsbeek is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Van Kalsbeek, a freshman from Hospers, Iowa, averaged 25.5 points and eight rebounds a game as the Red Raiders went 1-1. In a four overtime loss against Concordia he scored 33 points. For the week he was 18-33 from the floor for 55%. Northwestern is now 9-4 overall and 5-1 in league play.
