USF Quarterback
Lorenzo Brown
University of Sioux Falls quarterback Lorenzo Brown has been named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the national office Monday. Brown was also named the GPAC Player of the Week on Monday.
Brown guided USF to a 49-21 victory over No. 4 Morningside College (9-1 overall, 9-1 GPAC). The win gave USF their fourth consecutive conference crown and allowed USF to stay No. 1 in the NAIA polls for the entire regular season.
The Bristol, Conn. native had 315 yards of total offense and six touchdowns against the NAIA's No. 3 rated scoring defense. Brown completed 17 of 26 pass attempts (65%) for 260 yards and four touchdowns and added 55 rushing yards with two rushing touchdowns. His rushing touchdowns helped seal the game for the Cougars late in the second half.

For the season, Brown has completed 69% of passes attempted for 2,562 yards and 33 touchdowns to only two interceptions. His 203.0 pass efficiency rating leads the nation. Brown is second on the team with 589 rush yards and 13 touchdowns.

Brown is the second USF player to be named the NAIA Player of the Week. Senior running back Ryan Lowmiller was honored after his five touchdown performance in a 59-7 win over Dakota Wesleyan University on October, 24th.

USF will play No. 14 Minot State University (8-2) on Saturday, November 21st at the USF Sanford Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and tickets are now available.
