![]() GPAC Week #10 Volleyball Honors The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for November 2 - November 8, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player - Jamie Vander Kooi, Morningside (Outside Hitter) Morningside outside hitter Jamie Vander Kooi is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Vander Kooi, a senior from Hinton, Iowa, averaged 4.33 kills per game as the Mustangs defeated Dana in the GPAC Quarterfinals on Saturday night 3-0. For the match she hit .545 and also added five digs. Morningside is now 31-6 and will host Doane in the GPAC Semifinals on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM. Morningside and Doane split matches on the season. *Vander Kooi is the GPAC's NAIA Player-of-the-Week Nominee Setter- Amber Sneller, Sioux Falls (Setter)
Sioux Falls setter Amber Sneller is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Sneller, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 4.13 assists per game as the Cougars went 1-1 on the week in the GPAC Tournament. In a first round win over Midland Lutheran she totaled 20 assists in the Cougar 6-2 offense. She came back with 13 assists in a quarterfinal loss at Northwestern. For the week she also averaged 2.25 kills as a right side hitter. Sioux Falls closed the season with a 19-19 record.
Libero- Rachel Heeney, Sioux Falls (Libero)
Sioux Falls libero Rachel Heeney is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Heeney, a junior from South Sioux City, Nebraska, averaged 4.75 digs per game as the Cougars went 1-1 on the week. For the week she completed 27-29 pass attempts and had two service aces.
