Volleyball Honors
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for October 26 - November 1, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player - Ivie Speer, Doane (Right Side)
  Doane right side hitter Ivie Speer is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Speer, a senior from Central City, Nebraska, averaged 3.88 kills per game as the Tigers went 2-0 and secured a tie for second in the conference. In a home win over #18 Morningside she posted 19 kills. For the week she hit .474 as Doane improved to 26-6 and closed out league play at 13-3. Doane will be the three seed in the conference tournament and host the Briar Cliff/Dakota Wesleyan winner on Saturday in a quarterfinal match.

Setter- Heather Davison, Doane (Setter)
 
Doane setter Heather Davison is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Davison, a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska, averaged 6.5 assists per set game in the Tigers 6-2 offense. For the week the Doane team hit .333 as the defeated Briar Cliff and Morningside in key home matches. Doane is now 26-6 and will host a GPAC quarterfinal match on Saturday in Crete, Nebraska.

Libero- Melynne Kessler, Hastings (Libero)
 
Hastings libero Melynne Kessler is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Kessler, a senior from Bellevue, Nebraska, averaged 6.0 digs per game as the Broncos went 2-0 on the week with wins over Dana and Midland Lutheran. For the week we was 17-19 on serve receive and completed 33-34 service attempts with four ace serves. Hastings is now 27-8 and went 11-5 in the GPAC. The Broncos will be the fourth seed in the conference tournament and host the winner of Dordt/Mount Marty on Saturday in a quarterfinal in Hastings, Nebraska.
