The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Football Players-of-the-Week
Offense - Tim Richard, Quarterback - Morningside
  Morningside quarterback Tim Richard is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Richard, a senior from Underwood, Iowa, passed for six touchdowns on Saturday as the Mustangs defeated Doane 78-14 in Sioux City. He was an efficient 21-22 (95%) passing with no interceptions. Richard started the game with 15 straight pass completions. Morningside is now 8-0 on the season and will play at cross-town rival Briar Cliff next Saturday at
1 PM.

Defense - Jerrod Fleming, Linebacker - Concordia
  Concordia linebacker Jerrod Fleming is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Fleming, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, totaled a game high 11 tackles including 3.5 tackles for loss as Concordia won at Dana 13-2. For the game he had an interception, a sack, and a pass breakup as the Bulldogs forced five Viking turnovers. Concordia is now 3-6 on the season and will host Hastings next Saturday at 1 PM.

Special Teams - Adam Lopez, Return Specialist - Sioux Falls
  Sioux Falls return specialist Adam Lopez is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Lopez, a sophomore from Gillette, Wyoming, took the opening kickoff of the second half back 90 yards for a touchdown in the Cougars 49-14 win at Northwestern. The kickoff return for a score was the first of the season for top-ranked Sioux Falls. The Cougars are 9-0 (8-0 GPAC) and will host Dordt next Saturday at 1 PM.
