Top-ranked University of Sioux Falls scored 35 straight points to pull away and defeat 12th-ranked Northwestern 49-14 in a GPAC football showdown played in Orange City, Iowa. USF improves to 9-0 overall, 8-0 in the GPAC while the Raiders fall to 7-2 on the season.
 
After a three-yard scamper by Taylor Malm cut the lead to 14-7 in the second quarter, USF scored 14 points to close out the half and led 28-7 at intermission. Cougars quarterback Lorenzo Brown scored off a 16-yard run and then hooked up with Scott LeBrun on a screen pass that went for 69-yards and a score.

The Cougars opened the second half with an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Adam Lopez and after the Raiders were forced to punt, USF scored two plays later off a five-yard touchdown pass from Brown to Jon Ryan. The Cougars scored for the final time later in the third quarter when Brown connected with Ryan once again for a six-yard scoring strike to put the score at 49-7.

Northwestern scored its final touchdown midway through the fourth quarter on a one-yard plunge by Brandon Smith.

The Red Raiders managed 17 first downs, compared to 16 for USF. NWC rushed for 191 yards on 51 carries, led by Taylor Malm with 73 yards and a score. Brad Payne, who played most of the second half after an injury to starting quarterback Ryan Morgan, carried the ball 10 times for 66 yards while Kevin VanderSchaaf added 34 yards. Brandon Smith gained 23 yards and added a one-yard touchdown run. Morgan completed 5-of-11 passes for 25 yards while Payne completed 2-of-7 passes for 10 yards.

Caleb Van Otterloo led the Raider D with six solo tackles, seven total while Austin Rozeboom added five tackles.

USF was led by quarterback Lorenzo Brown who accounted for 361 total yards of offense and six touchdowns. The senior rushed for 114 yards and three scores and completed 11-of-16 passes for 247 yards and three more scores. Ryan Lowmiler carried the ball 12 times for 96 yards while Alex Anderson led the receivers with three catches for 69 yards.
