Cross Country Honors
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following runners-of-the-week in cross country for October 19 -October 25, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week
Women - Jena Schwalenberg, Concordia
 
Concordia's Jena Schwalenberg is the week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Schwalenberg, a freshman from Columbus, Nebraska, finished second at the Mount Marty Graphic Edge Invite in Yankton, South Dakota. Her time was 18:28 on the 5K course. She led five Concordia runners that placed in the top 20 as they won the team title. In the latest NAIA poll out today the Bulldogs are ranked 9th in the country.

Men - Sufian Kimo, Doane
 
Doane's Sufian Kimo is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Kimo, a senior from Norfolk, Nebraska, posted a time of 25:33 at the NAIA Mid-Stats Classic. He placed fourth in the 8K race that featured 215 runners. There were 22 teams in the meet at Southwestern College in Kansas.
