![]() GPAC Week #8 Volleyball Honors The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for October 19 - October 25, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player - Hilary Hanno, Northwestern (Outside Hitter) Northwestern outside hitter Hillary Hanno is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Hanno, a junior from Sioux City, Iowa, averaged 5.22 kills per set as the Red Raiders went 3-0 and secured the GPAC Regular Season Championship. For the week she hit an impressive .347 and also averaged 2.11 digs per game. Northwestern, ranked third in the NAIA, is now 15-0 in the league and 29-2 overall. *Hanno is the GPAC's NAIA Player-of-the-Week Nominee Setter- Kaitlin Beaver, Northwestern (Setter)
Northwestern setter Kaitlin Beaver is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Beaver, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 13.67 assists per game as Northwestern improved to 15-0 in league play. For the week she guided a team that hit .307 in three sweeps of conference opponents. Northwestern is now 29-2 on the season and ranked third in the NAIA. The Red Raiders will round out league play at Dordt on Saturday in a 7:30 PM match.
Libero- Britni Putnam, Midland Lutheran (Libero)
Midland Lutheran libero Britni Putnam is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Putnam, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, averaged 6.7 digs per game as the Warriors went 2-1 in conference action. For the week she totaled 67 digs and had only three service receptions.
