Football Honors
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Football Players-of-the-Week
Offense - Ryan Lowmiller, Running Back - Sioux Falls
  Sioux Falls running back Ryan Lowmiller is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Lowmiller, a senior from Crystal Lake, Illinois, carried the ball eight times for 197 yards and five touchdowns as the top-ranked Cougars defeated Dakota Wesleyan 59-7. For the game he averaged 24.6 yards per carry. The five rushing touchdowns tied a school and GPAC record. One of his touchdowns went for 87 yards and all five of his scores came in the first half. Sioux Falls is now 8-0 overall and 7-0 in the league heading into a 1PM game this Saturday at Northwestern.

Defense -- Vince Martinez, Safety - Doane
  Doane safety Vince Martinez is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Martinez, a sophomore from El Paso, Texas, posted two interceptions in the Tigers win at home against Dordt 24-12. One of his interceptions he returned a conference record 100 yards for a touchdown. Another pick he ran back 69 yards setting up a Doane score. In the win he also recovered a fumble late in the game to secure the victory. Doane will travel to Morningside this week for a 1PM game in Sioux City.

Special Teams - Beau Kildow, Return Specialist - Morningside
  Morningside return specialist Beau Kildow is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Kildow, senior from Omaha, Nebraska, totaled 99 yards on three returns as the Mustangs defeated Midland Lutheran 38-27. He also caught six passes for 98 yards and a touchdown as Morningside improved to 7-0. Morningside will host Doane in a 1PM game on Saturday at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
