The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for October 12 - October 18, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player - Randa Hulstein, Northwestern (Middle Blocker)
Northwestern middle blocker Randa Hulstein is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Hulstein, a senior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 3.89 kills per game last week while hitting .474 for the Red Raiders. For the week 5th ranked Northwestern went 3-0 including a 3-0 win over #19 Doane on the weekend. She also averaged 1.7 blocks per game and 2.6 digs per set. Northwestern is now 26-2 overall and is in sole possession of first place in the league with a 12-0 record.

Setter- Kaitlin Beaver, Northwestern (Setter)
Northwestern setter Kaitlin Beaver is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Beaver, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 12.33 assists per game as the Red Raiders went 3-0 on the week. For the week she guided a Northwestern attack that hit .360 for the week. Offensively she added ten kills over three matches. The Red Raiders are 26-2 and lead the GPAC with a 12-0 mark.
Libero- Dorinda Hibma, Dordt (Libero)
Dordt libero Dorinda Hibma is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Hibma, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 5.92 digs per set as Dordt went 3-0 on the week. For the week she also completed 113-115 pass attempts and fired two ace serves. Dordt is now 22-7 and are in third place in the league at 9-2. The Lady Defenders, who fell out of the rankings last week, defeated #19 Doane at home on Friday in five sets.
