Dordt College Athletic Director, Glenn Bouma, has announced Dordt College will add women's golf to the athletic department's offerings beginning in the fall of 2010.

"Several high schools we draw students from offer women's golf and this will allow students, wishing to compete in golf, to do so at Dordt College," said Bouma. "With The Ridge (Sioux Center's 18-hole course) opening this past year we have a first-class facility for our teams to practice and play competitively on.

Dordt College was the lone member of the 13 school Great Plains Athletic Conference school that didn't offer women's golf. Adding women's golf also makes the number of sports offerings equal in men's and women's athletics at Dordt College.

Recruitment of individuals to compete in Dordt College's first women's golf season in the fall of 2010 begins immediately and the search for a coach is underway.
