![]() BCU Upsets Rival Morningside in GPAC Volleyball Two days after losing to Midland Lutheran, who was winless in the conference, the Charger volleyball team rebounded with a thrilling 3-1 (25-20, 16-25, 25-16, 25-13) victory over NAIA No. 12 Morningside. The biggest win of the season for the Chargers also came nearly a week after the Mustangs pulled off a 3-0 victory over theChargers at the Newman Flanagan Center.
Alex Anstine led the Chargers with 13 kills, while Nicole Hoogeveen had 11. Chehala Pace and Geri Heimann also had big nights for the Chargers, with nine kills apiece. The Chargers hit .247, while the Mustangs were held to .153. Allison Holtgrewe dished out 24 assists for BCU, while Inglish Hartwig had 16. The Chargers had five ace serves on the night, compared to just two for the Mustangs. Jamie Vander Kooi led the Mustangs with 14 kills. With the win, the Chargers improved to 14-13 overall and 7-4 in the GPAC. For Morningside, their first conference loss dropped them to 26-4 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
