![]() Morningside's Cam Jacobs Takes Medalist Lead Morningside battled through wind and cold today to shoot a 312 and take a 20 stroke lead in the GPAC Men's Golf Championship after the second of four qualifiers. GPAC Men's Golf Qualifier #2 was played at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was hosted by Doane College. The Mustangs two round total sits at 605, while Nebraska Wesleyan is second with a 625. Dakota Wesleyan is third at 632. The University of Sioux Falls placed second today with a team total of 328.
Morningside had the hot hand today with two players shooting in the 70's, while the stroke average for the field was 90.33. Cam Jacobs paced the Mustangs with a 73 and was the medalist for the second qualifier on Tuesday. Jacobs also takes the overall lead with a 36 hole total of 144. The GPAC men will now take the winter off and come back for GPAC Qualifier #3 on Monday, April 12, back in Lincoln at the Firethorn Golf Course as Nebraska Wesleyan will host the next 18 holes. The fourth and final qualifier will be played on Tuesday, May 4, in Sioux Falls at the Prairie Green Golf Course.
