Cross Country Honors
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following runners-of-the-week in cross country for September 21 -September 27, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week
Women - Kara Nelson, Morningside
 
Morningside's Kara Nelson is the week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Nelson, a junior from Cherokee, Iowa, placed first in the Doane Dean White Invite on Saturday in Crete, Nebraska, with a time of 18:57 on the 5K course. Her time helped lead the Mustang women to the team title on the day. There were 64 runners in the women's race.

Men - Sufian Kimo, Doane
 
Doane's Sufian Kimo is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Kimo, senior from Norfolk, Nebraska, was the top collegiate finisher in the Doane Dean White Invite in Crete, Nebraska. His time was 26:24 on the 8K course. The Doane men won the men's portion of the meet.
