Cross Country Honors
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following runners-of-the-week in cross country for August 31 -September 6, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2009-2010 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week
WOMEN - Kara Nelson, Morningside
 
Morningside's Kara Nelson is the week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Nelson, a junior from Cherokee, Iowa, finished second in the USD Don Baker Invite last Saturday with a time of 18:53.66. She finished second to USD's All-American Ramsey (Kavan) Fitzsimmons who clocked a 18:04.02.

MEN - Brian Gesink, Morningside
 
Morningside's Brian Gesink is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Gesink, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, placed fourth in the USD Don Baker Invite with a time of 26:20.44. He was the highest NAIA finisher in the meet in Vermillion, South Dakota.
