Dana College Athletic Director Bill Danenhauer announced on Friday that Nick Swaney was selected as the first coach of Dana's men's golf, set to begin in the fall of 2009.  

"We feel Nick is a strong golf personality and will do a good job on building up our men's program," commented Athletic Director Bill Danenhauer."This will give us and opportunity to have a strong men's program to go with our women's."
Swaney was a three-year letter winner at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.He was a member of the Loper team that qualified for Super Regional's.Currently, Swaney serves as the assistant boy's and girl's golf coach at Blair High School and is a shop manager at Scheel's Sporting Goods in Omaha.
 
"I am really excited to be joining the dynamic coaching staff at Dana and to be working with such a talented group of young men," commented Swaney."I have great aspirations for our team this coming year and I am thrilled to be a part of the foundation of the men's golf team."
 
Swaney is a graduate of Blair High School.He also graduated from UNK in 2007 with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
 
Starting in the 2009-2010 school year, Dana College will sanction men's golf.
