MLC's Kelly Sladek Named NAIA
Pitcher-of-the-Week
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following softball player and pitcher-of-the-week for April 20 - April 26, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2008-2009 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Softball Weekly Honors
Pitcher - Kelly Sladek, Midland Lutheran
  Midland Lutheran pitcher Kelly Sladek is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Sladek, a junior from Cordova, Nebraska, posted a 4-0 record on the week, with two saves, and is in the midst of 33 1/3 scoreless innings of pitching. For the week she struck out 41 batters on the week. She was also named the NAIA National Player-of-the-Week.
 

Player- Cara DeStigter, Morningside
  Morningside outfielder Cara DeStigter is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Player-of-the-Week. DeStigter, a senior from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, posted a batting average of .750 as the Mustangs won the GPAC regular season championship and secured a NAIA National Tournament berth. For the week she had ten RBI's, while hitting a double, triple, and scoring four runs.
