The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for April 12 -April 19, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2008-2009 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher - Phil Johnson, Dakota Wesleyan University
 
Dakota Wesleyan pitcher Phil Johnson is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Johnson, a junior from Mitchell, South Dakota, went 1-0 this week. Johnson threw a complete game, allowing just one run on eight hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. Dakota Wesleyan was 28-11 starting play this week and is on a six game win streak.

Player- Casey Solem, Dakota Wesleyan University
  Dakota Wesleyan University leftfielder Casey Solem is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Solem, a junior from East Grand Forks, Minnesota, hit .455 on the week with a slugging average of .545. Over three games he had five hits and scored five runs. Against North Dakota State he was 2-for-4 with two walks, two runs and two RBI. Dakota Wesleyan was 28-11 starting play this week and moved into second place in the league standings.
