The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following outdoor track & field player-of-the-week for April 6 - April 12, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2008-2009 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week Track Events
Bethany Sutton, Concordia Concordia's Bethany Sutton is the track athlete-of-the-week. Sutton, a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, placed sixth the 800 meter run at the Ed Weir Outdoor Invite in Lincoln, Nebraska with a time of 2:13.79 minutes. Sutton hit an automatic mark in the 800m run and set a new Concordia University school record. The time is the eighth fastest in the NAIA this week. Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week Field Events Jared Schuurmans, Doane Doane's Jared Schuurmans is the field athlete-of-the-week. Schuurmans, a junior from Norfolk, Nebraska, won the shot put and discus events at the Doane/Concordia dual meet. In the shot put, his mark was 54-3.75 and in the discus he measured 168-04. Both are NAIA national qualifying marks and rank in the top three marks in the NAIA this year and are GPAC leading marks. Track Events |
