The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for March 30 -April 5, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2008-2009 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher - Zane Cascini, Nebraska Wesleyan
 
Nebraska Wesleyan pitcher Zane Cascini is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Cascini, a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska, went 1-0 this week. Cascini pitched a complete game 4-hit shutout in a battle of the two top teams in the GPAC standings at the time to lead NWU to a 1-0 win over Hastings. Cascini has now extended his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 16 innings. The Prairie Wolves were 17-5 starting play this week.

Player- Morgan Blatnik, Concordia
  Concordia second baseman Morgan Blatnik is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Blatnik, a freshman from Littleton, Colorado, hit .607 on the week with a slugging average of .929. Over six games he totaled eight runs scored with five extra base hits. The Bulldogs were 7-23 entering the week.
